Pharrell To Produce Horror Movie ‘Survive The Night’

Skateboard P has done music for animated blockbusters, and has produced an award-nominated biographical drama film. Now, Pharrell wants to get his Get Out on.

Billboard is reporting that Williams is teaming with Tracy Oliver, the writer of the hit movie Girls Trip, to make a movie adaptation of the novel Survive The Night. Written by Danielle Vega, the book follows a group of young college women trapped inside an underground rave in a New York City subway tunnel, fighting for their lives against a silent killer hunting them throughout the night.

Williams will produce Survive The Night, which is being labeled as a “music-themed horror thriller,” with his i am OTHER Entertainment partner Mimi Valdes. Leslie Morgenstein and Elysa Dutton, of Alloy Entertainment, will co-produce.

Pharrell, Mimi and Tracy have collaborated on a variety of other projects throughout the years. Pharrell and Mimi helped produce Hidden Figures, as well as the 2015 film DOPE. All three collaborated on Awkward Black Girl, the popular YouTube series that starred a pre-Insecure Issa Rae.
