Throughout the first four albums of JAY-Z‘s catalog, he and DJ Premier collaborated on several classic moments: the “Friend Or Foe” series, “So Ghetto,” and “D’Evils,” to name some.
One of the more memorable moments was the introductory track on Jay’s sophomore album In My Lifetime, Vol. 1, “A Million And One Questions/Rhyme No More.” Speaking to Mass Appeal as a part of their Off The Record series, Primo opens up on how the two would remix the track (eliminating the “Rhyme No More” portion altogether). Wanting it to be more street than its predecessors, he explains how the two would extend the first part into a new verse while crafting a “totally left, dark, ‘put your hoodie on, run for your life'” alternate ending.
