Kamaiyah Drops Surprise Mixtape, ‘Before I Wake’

In 2016 Oakland-reared rapper Kamaiyah burst onto the scene with her debut mixtape, A Good Night In The Ghetto, a project so West Coast it should have come packaged with an order of animal fries from In-N-Out. The breakout project established the Ill Yaya as one of the more exciting newcomers from the Bay Area, and she would collaborate with the likes of E-40, YG and Drake, becoming a 2017 XXL Freshman and ultimately landing a deal with Interscope Records.

While she has been prepping the her major label debut project, Don’t Ever Get It Twisted, Kamaiyah surprises fans with an unexpected follow-up to A Good Night In The Ghetto: Before I Wake. A 10-track project, Before I Wake is sonically in tune with its predecessor, sampling the likes of Keith Sweat, Lil Jon TLC, Tha Dogg Pound and others.
