Now the latest artist on Columbia Records, Remy Ma is working on her solo sophomore album which will come a decade-plus after her 2006 debut There’s Something About Remy: Based on a True Story. With the impending arrival of 7 Winters, 6 Summers, Remy dropped the first street single “Wake Me Up.”
Heavily sampling “Queen B*tch” from her 1996 album Hard Core, Lil Kim also appears on the track and video, which — despite both artists’ claims that they’re not in fact dissing aspiring Internet breaker Nicki Minaj — sounds an awful lot like a diss toward their fellow New Yorker.
