The 2018 GRAMMYs will return to New York City, for the first time since 2003, on January 28th, 2018. Today (Nov. 28) it has announced its nominees, and as a pleasant surprise two of hip hop’s biggest names are among the most-nominated.

JAY-Z — who will also receive the GRAMMY Salute To Industry Icons Award — leads all nominees with eight, including nods for Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Rap Album. Kendrick Lamar follows the living legend with seven, including nods for Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Rap Album and Rap Performance of the Year.

SZA, in her first year of eligibility, scored five nominations, including Best New Artist (alongside Khalid, Lil Uzi Vert and Alessia Cara.) Bruno Mars scored six nominations, and Donald Glover — as Childish Gambino — grabbed five.

Several artists also scored their first GRAMMY nominations, including Rapsody, Cardi B, Migos, GoldLink, Run The Jewels, Daniel Caesar and 6LACK.
