Today (Nov. 29) marks a special occasion for The Game, as the Los Angeles veteran celebrates his 38th birthday. Returning to his Instagram page after a hiatus, he dropped a three-part video freestyle in his honor, “38 Special.”
In between bravado raps and reflecting on his own mortality (“I used to think rapping at 38 was ew/Until I turned 38 and I’m still rapping still”) he surprisingly expresses support for his once-rival Meek Mill, shouts out everyone from Kendrick Lamar to YoungBoy Never Broke Again, and waxes poetics on hip hop’s generation gap-slash-family feud.
