Preferring to let their artists do the talking for them, Top Dawg Entertainment has grown into one of the more prevalent labels out today, guiding Kendrick Lamar, SZA and ScHoolboy Q to successful albums, multiple GRAMMY nominations and/or wins, and more. However, perhaps none of it would have happened had it not been for Terrence Henderson, better known as Punch.

President of TDE, and one nifty part-time rapper to boot, Punch sat down with Noah Callahan-Bever for a rare interview. In his 25-minute interview, he spoke on being a “listless writer and rapper from South Central LA, with an interest in music with no concrete goals” to teaming with his cousin Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith to build one of hip hop’s prevalent labels, discovering the artists who would form Black Hippy, and more.
