It’s been a while, but Mass Appeal revisits their “Rhythm Roulette” series with Canadialand’s Boi-1da.
1da, who recently produced G-Eazy‘s hit single “No Limit,” headed to Toronto’s Play De Record and — as is customary — randomly selected three vinyls while blindfolded: fellow Canadian Mac DeMarco’s 2012 album 2, Canadian quintet The Souljazz Orchestra’s Under Burning Skies and English house music Dirty Vegas’ 2002 single “Ghost.” Using Serato Sample, like DJ Dahi and DJ Jazzy Jeff, he crafted three beats from scratch.
