MURS – “Melancholy” (Video)

blame it on Shake December 22, 2017

To say 2017 has been an evil b*tch would be quite the understatement. Outside of some quality musical releases, the majority of the year has been littered with death, blatant racism, and endless tragedies.

For MURS, his personal life was also dealt several blows. All of which, will be discussed on his upcoming album, A Strange Journey Into The Unimaginable, releasing March 16, 2018, the rapper’s 40th birthday.

“On 3/16, I’ll be putting out my most personal album ever. I’ve been through a lot in the past couple of years, from a divorce, to the death of my newborn son,” Murs revealed in a heartfelt message that came with the release of a video for “Melancholy,” the first single from the album.

“I know it’s the holiday season, and for those of you grieving, feeling alone, or for whatever reason can’t quite get into the holiday spirit, this one’s for you,” he continued. “And for those of you that are in the holiday spirit, consider this an early gift from Seven (Strange Music’s in-house producer providing the album’s canvas) and myself.”

Rocking an ATCQ sweater, the Cali rapper takes the stage at a random dive bar and proceeds to vent about his battles with depression, testing the therapy waters, ditching prescription drugs, and everything else that’s weighed on him during the last 365 and change. But don’t think these potholes are causing Murs to call it quits—he’s just dealing with them the best way he knows how.
