Skillz Talks Dissing Uncle Murda with Ebro in the Morning

2018 is still in its neophyte stages, and hip hop already has its first beef: a war of words between Skillz and Uncle Murda.

After lyrically recapping 2017 with his long-running and popular “Rap Up,” Lenny Grant — who, after starting his own take a few years ago and dropped his own 2017 version — took shots at Skillz while on Sway In The Morning and even sent the rapper a disparaging direct message on Instagram. Fed up (and with the proverbial sh*ts), Skillz retaliated with a diss song toward Murda on wax, “Murda Gram.”

Skillz called into Hot 97 today (Jan. 4) to speak on everything with the Ebro In The Morning show. Saying Murda kept continually disrespecting him, he was finally fed up following the DM. Skillz continued to say that while he’s not upset at others doing recaps, he doesn’t know why Uncle Murda continually “kept my name in his mouth.” “He’s funny, yeah he’s a character, but he ain’t built for bars,” Skillz retorts.

Skillz also speaks on why he stopped rapping, instead transitioning into writing for other artists and launching a career in deejaying (for a while, he would handle the microphone work for DJ Jazzy Jeff throughout his travels). But, at the day’s end, he’s not here for the disrespect.
