Jay Rock: “My Third Album Is Done”

If you’re a fan of Jay Rock, then you will no doubt like this.

The longest-tenured TDE member stopped by 92.3’s The Real After Party show in Los Angeles (what up, Bootleg Kev!), where he provided an update on his anticipated follow-up to his 2015 second studio album 90059. He revealed that the album is actually done, and will follow the TDE-produced soundtrack for the Black Panther film.

Explaining the delay, he revealed that the devastating dirt bike accident he suffered in 2016 caused things to grind to a halt. I was just healing up, and when I healed up, I just locked-in the studio,” he says.

Jay also opens up on “King’s Dead,” his collaboration with Kendrick Lamar, Future and James Blake (which is also on the Black Panther soundtrack), the features on his forthcoming third album, and more.
