Already a multiple winner for Best Music Video, Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance, Kendrick Lamar opened up the 60th Grammy Awards with a raucous mini-medley performance… and Dave Chappelle.

In between action-packed performances of “XXX” (with U2), “DNA” and “King’s Dead,” Dave would break his performance with a couple quips: “The only thing more frightening than watching a Black man be honest in America is being an honest Black man in America.”

Watch the set below.

Shortly after the performance, Kendrick and Rihanna would win the award for Best Rap/Sung Performance, for “LOYALTY,” while Dot swept the rap categories with Best Rap Album, as well.
