January 28th marked the 50th birthday of William Michael Griffin Jr., better known to the hip hop world as Rakim. And to celebrate, a hometown favorite paid homage to The 18th Letter in their own unique way.

During today’s early morning show (Jan. 29), Mark Arum and Fred Blankenship of Atlanta’s WSB-TV Channel 2 incorporated a plethora of Rakim lyrics and references into their traffic reports. From “Paid In Full” to “Microphone Fiend,” Arum and Blankenship dropped multiple references to the rapper living legend throughout their reports.

Arum and Blankenship have done this numerous times, saluting Prodigy, The Notorious B.I.G., 2Pac and Phife Dawg throughout the years.
