So… this is happening.
The 1972 seminal Blaxploitation standout from Gordon Parks Jr. is being remade in 2018… with a trap twist.
You read that correctly.
Directed by Director X (who, most recently, was behind the camera for Drake‘s “God’s Plan” video), Future has been tapped as a producer of the film. Futche will also produce the soundtrack to the film, emulating Curtis Mayfield in 1972. Unlike the original, which was based in New York City, this incarnation of Youngblood Priest will dwell in Atlanta.
Superfly will star Trevor Jackson (grownish) as Priest. Jason Mitchell (Straight Outta Compton, Mudbone), Lex Scott Davis (Toni Braxton: Unbreak My Heart), Andrea Londo (Narcos), Jacob Ming-Trent (White Famous), and Omar Chaparro (Big Brother VIP 2) will co-star.
