After three decades in the game, A Tribe Called Quest are putting an end to the visual aspect of their lengthy run with the release of their final video.
Revisiting We Got It From Here… Thank You 4 Your Service, which should’ve won a GRAMMY, the trio of Q-Tip, Ali Shaheed Muhammad and Jabari White find themselves on a deteriorating space craft, leaving behind a racism-filled world, that ends up running out of oxygen (“I can’t breathe.”) and leaving them stranded on another planet. Hope is present, though, and the three end up walking off into the sunset while “For Malik” reads on the screen—a tribute to the late Phife Dawg.
With cameos from Pharrell, Vince Staples, Erykah Badu, Anderson .Paak, Alicia Keys, Common, Black Thought, Questlove, Talib Kweli, and more, the Warren Fu-directed video was released as an Apple Music exclusive (for now), with a preview available for those without a subscription available below.
