Every two years or so, Awon and Phoniks like to resurface with a new album to remind us they’ve still got the goods.
Since making their debut together with Return to the Golden Era back in 2015, the Newport News, VA emcee and Portland, ME producer followed it up with Knowledge of Self in 2015. And now, the duo are back with their third full-length offering, The Actual Proof.
Released through their own Don’t Sleep Records, Awon and Phoniks once again prove that hip hop is far from dead with quality raps over raw, dusty, and soulful beats.
Led by “True to the Facts,” with features from label-mates Anti-Lilly (who dropped an incredible album with Phoniks last year) and Tiff the Gift, as well as Skyzoo, Hex One, and Ill Conscious, The Actual Proof can be heard below.
