With Slingshot David still in rotation, Dee-1 is back with the latest video from his debut album.

After breaking down the “Hood Villains” and proclaiming “Love Always Wins,” the New Orleans native keeps it coming with “I Don’t Wanna Let You Down,” which tells the story of a musical subculture in his hometown where kids support their families while entertaining tourists in the French Quarters. In the video, Dee zones in on one child in particular, young Zedrick.

“I chose this as the narrative for this song when I met Zedrick and his friends walking down Bourbon Street. It was so late and I couldn’t understand how these kids were out here oppose to being at home doing homework,” Dee-1 says. “At this point, I felt that it was my duty to shine some light on a topic that is plaguing the youth.”

Directed by Dee-1 and shot by Ben Simmons, the video for “I Don’t Wanna Let You Down” can be seen below.
