O.C. Tackles NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert with Help From Lord Finesse

blame it on Shake April 23, 2018

Over the years, NPR has invited countless artists to their office to rock a Tiny Desk concert. And now, it’s O.C.’s turn.

In 2018 alone, we’ve seen performances from Big K.R.I.T., Common (with August Greene), Big Daddy Kane, Jamila Woods, and Open Mike Eagle. And now, the Diggin’ in the Crates crew have come through to do their thing.

Backed by live instrumentation from jazz outfit Soul’d U Out, and an appearance from fellow DITC member, Lord Finesse, O.C. runs through “New Day,” “Day One,” “Return of the Crooklyn Dodgers,” and “Time’s Up,” before wrapping things up with an emotional performance of “Born 2 Live,” a song he wrote and recorded for Word… Life following the death of a close friend in Baltimore.
