Janelle Monáe Returns with ‘Dirty Computer’ Album

In the years following 2013’s Electric Lady, Janelle Monáe kept busy by essentially taking over Hollywood. On top of becoming the Cover Girl spokeswoman, Monáe starred in the Oscar-nominated films, Hidden Figures and Moonlight, with Moonlight winning the award for Best Picture at the 89th Academy Awards.

She hasn’t entirely ignored her musical roots either. She established her own imprint, Wondaland Arts Society, guiding the careers of artists like Jidenna, Roman GianArthur, Deep Cotton and St. Beauty.

But, to paraphrase an ode adage, “can’t leave music alone, the game needs me.”

Monáe has finally released her fourth album, Dirty Computer. A continuation of her Metropolis concept series, which tells the tale of fictional character Cindi Mayweather, the 14-song album is led by the eclectic singles “Make Me Feel,” “Django Jane,” “PYNK” and “I Like That.” The likes of Pharrell, Grimes, Zoë Kravitz and Brian Wilson (of The Beach Boys) are featured throughout.

Welcome back, Janelle. Stream Dirty Computer below and add the album on your preferred streaming platform.
