With Slum Village revisiting their roots on their The Lost Scrolls,
Young RJ returns with his latest drop, The Detroit Project.
A quasi-sequel to his Blaq Royalty album in 2017, the eight-track EP features prominent contributions from Guilty Simpson and Phat Kat, as well as J Dilla, De La Soul and Proof.
“I messed with Phat Kat and Guilty because they carry a pedigree in Detroit, we’re all talkin’ about men and women struggling here in the D,” RJ says. “Living in modern America is like hell for a man of color.”
