Are you a fan of beats and bars? Well, Locksmith and Apollo Brown have just what you need with the release of their new joint project, No Question.

Hailing from Richmond, CA, Lock has been doing his thing on the mic for years—grabbing our attention with 2011’s I Am Lock and his Embedded album with Ski Beatz, before tightening his grip each year after with 2012’s Labyrinth, 2013’s The Green Box, 2014’s A Thousand Cuts, 2015’s Lofty Goals, 2016’s The Lock Sessions, and last year’s Olive Branch.

Getting his start a few years earlier, Detroit’s Apollo Brown has been showing off his production talents with a half dozen solo albums and collaborative efforts with the likes of Skyzoo (The Easy Truth), Planet Asia (Anchovies), Rapper Big Pooh (Words Paint Pictures), Guilty Simpson (Dice Game), and many more.

Now, the gifted lyricist and supreme beat smith have joined forces for an eight-track showcase of pure hip hop.

“The music speaks for itself, no question,” Apollo says. “It’s just good Hip-Hop, period. Every track came alive when Lock got in the booth, and he literally spit with no paper, no cell phone, no Etch-A-Sketch… just pure memory. I’ve been a fan of this man’s mind for a minute. His thought process is crazy, and I finally got the chance to put it to music.”

“It was so refreshing to have such an incredible producer to provide the landscape for my perspective,” Lock added. “The lyrics literally wrote themselves once I heard the tracks.”

Led by the title-track and the incredible “Litmus,” No Question is full of raw and honest lyricism over equally fresh production. Press play below and be sure to add the project on your preferred streaming platform.
