Back in December of last year, DJ Muggs made some noise when he teased a potential collaboration with MF DOOM was in the works. The posts on social media have since been deleted, but thankfully, the news was confirmed when the Soul Assassin and the Masked Villain teamed up with Freddie Gibbs on “Death Wish” last week.
And now, the second half of the two-part single has been released. This time, it’s Kool G Rap joining the duo on a song called “Assassination Day.”
The single, which is available on Apple Music and all other streaming services, marks the first ‘chapter’ from Muggs’ forthcoming album, Assassination Day, dropping August 3rd, that follows a vigilante theme where hip hop takes corruption head on, figuratively killing off powerful evildoers in positions of power. The album will be made up of multiple ‘chapters’ alongside various emcees.
