Skillz is back in business… and he’s big mad. Well, not really. In fact, the Virginia native is actually living his best life and he just want to spread the love.
After channeling The Whispers for his “In A Minute” video, Skillz keeps it rocking with his new project, I’m The DJ & The Rapper — which is not a Mad Skillz solo album…
“This is my DJ EP featuring songs that I wrote or co-wrote that I have been secretly playing in my sets for over a year now,” Skillz says. “‘In A Minute’ is the only song I’m on, the rest are bangers featuring some of my close friends who are super talented and helped me bring this project to life.”
“The title explains exactly where I am in my life right now so it fit perfectly,” he continued. “The cover is a tribute to one of my favorite albums by two of my hip hop heroes Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff.”
Locked in at eight tracks, the project features contributions from Akazi, Drew Gavin, Donut Da Legend, Chris Scholar, Courtney Redd and Kxrxn Dxn. Check it out below and add the EP on your preferred streaming platform.
