Drake Shatters Streaming Records with ‘Scorpion’ Release

As a surprise to no one, Drake is doing numbers.

Less than 48 hours after the release of Scorpion, The Boy has already shattered single-day streaming records on both Apple Music and Spotify.

In the first 24 hours, Drake’s fifth studio album accumulated a staggering 170 million streams worldwide on Apple Music—destroying the previous record, coincidentally held by Drake’s More Life and it’s 89.9 million streams.

On Spotify, Scorpion received 132 million streams (including 10 million streams an hour thanks to the inclusion on every playlist imaginable—including Gospel) on its first day available on the platform—nearly doubling Post Malone’s previous mark with Beerbongs & Bentleys.

That’s 300 million streams worldwide for those keeping track at home. And that’s without Tidal, who continues to be stingy with their numbers.
