R&B has been as good as it’s ever been in years, with a dazzling array of eclectic musicians — from SZA to Jorja Smith and everyone in between) leading the charge. Now, fans can add Mereba to the mix.

Born in Alabama but raised on the East Coast, Mereba has garnered a co-sign from none other than Stevie Wonder. She has now released a visual for her single “Black Truck,” which is produced by another living legend in 9th Wonder.

Directed by Durimel (twin brothers Jalan and Jibril), Mereba explained its concept to Hypebeast. “I had been stuck in a whirlwind of surreal challenges in my life, and I think the words came to me to remind me and whoever needed to hear it, that there is glory in just having the guts to try,” she says. “We wanted to tell a story that captured the darkness of life’s challenges but also shows gratitude to the ancestors and spirit guides that help people push to get to their glory.”

SHAKE EDIT: Fun fact, although you may not know the name, if you are a fan of Spillage Village (EarthGang and J.I.D, in particular), than you may recognize the voice from “All Bad” off The Never Story and tracks like “Off the Lot” and “Lady Nectarine” from EarthGang’s growing catalog.
