Phat Kat Releases Deluxe Edition of ‘Carte Blanche’ Album

In 2007 Phat Kat released his standout project, Carte Blanche. It would be one of the last projects that producer J Dilla would work on while he was alive; he had passed a year prior, due to thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura, a disease of the blood.

Kat has now re-released the project as a deluxe edition, with two previously-vaulted songs produced by Dilla: “World Premiere” and “It Don’t Get No Liver Than This,” which were recorded in 1996 and 1997, respectively. “For fans old and new, they can expect to be reintroduced to some raw, authentic, classic Detroit hip hop from beginning to end,” Kat says
