Since the relaunch of Payday Records in 2017, DJ Premier has taken some of today’s popular rappers back to the grimy 90s days of hip hop. After teaming with A$AP Ferg for “Our Streets,” he grabbed Roc Nation’s Casanova for “Wut U Said???”
The duo strike again with a matching set of visuals, directed by legendary hip hop photographer Daniel Hastings. “I went back to my 90’s style of shooting, edgy and raw,” said Hastings. “[Danny] came up with the concept of Casanova being tied up and he eventually breaks himself free and then ties up the enemy as a revenge,” said Premier. “Cas wasn’t with being tied up (LOL) so we had to work around it.”
