With her debut album due out before the year’s end, Tommy Genesis is back with another video.
After stripping down to her birthday suit and enjoying a bath in her overtly-sexual “Tommy” video, the Vancouver-bred, half-Swedish, half-Tamil chanteuse keeps things rolling with a self-directed clip for her latest single, “100 Bad“—produced by Charlie Heat (Pusha T, DRAM, Kanye).
“The music video turned out brighter than I expected,” Tommy says. “For the chorus it was either puppies or girls, the tampon scene is sort of my DIY take on Kelis laying in candy — the cash scene is a direct reference to Tracey Emin’s ‘I Want It All.’ The outro is a champagne ejaculation and it’s supposed to make you uncomfortable — it’s a commentary on the male gaze.”
One of six Charlie Heat-laced tracks to be featured on the album, the video for “100 Bad” can be seen below.
