Meet DLRN, an Atlanta-born, Sacramento-living rapper making his DopeHouse debut with the release of his new single and video, “Just Be Chillin.”
“We just wanted to create something fun for all ages and walks of life,” DLRN says. “A video that people could look back at years later and remember like it was yesterday.”
After watching the video, I definitely won’t be forgetting anything anytime soon. It’s pretty entertaining stuff. Not only does he stop traffic in the middle of the freeway, this man even got his hair cut in the middle of a pool. Who does that? DLRN does.
The upbeat slapper is just the beginning for DLRN, too. Writing music for nearly a decade, the West Coast transplant has spent the last few years honing his talents and working on his debut album—which will show the contrast between his own past and present and the hardships he went through to arrive at this point.
“It took me until I was grown to realize not everybody lives the way I did,” he says. “But everybody has their own problems and struggles. Everyone feels the same pain.”
