Niykee Heaton Drops ‘Starting Over’ EP

blame it on Meka October 6, 2018

Not gonna lie… I enjoyed this.

Yes, everyone here knows that Niykee Heaton — and her manager, Lauren Pisciotta — is at times more known her provocative social media than her music, but the Chicago native did quietly go Gold with her Migos-guested 2016 single “Bad Intentions.”

Heaton returns with her latest EP, Starting Over. A quick, three-song effort, the project shows a more vulnerable Heaton dealing with the repercussions of a chaotic relationship and the subsequent healing process. And, on the lowest of keys, one of my personal qualms — her voice — has even gotten better.

Yes, I’m fully aware of what the c-section’s comments will be loaded with, and if I cared that much about them I would not have listened to the project much less wrote about it. It’s honestly not a bad listen, so press play and listen below.
