Khalid kicks off a new era with his Suncity EP.
After spending the first 10 months of the year guest-starring on songs with 6LACK (“”), Billie Elish (“”), H.E.R. (“This Way”), and Normani (“Love Lies”), the 20-year-old singer is back with his first project since last year’s platinum-selling debut, American Teen.
“More than anything in life right now I want growth,” Khalid says. “I want my music to grow and represent how I am growing up. Suncity is the start of a new era for me, this music poured out of me and I didn’t want to wait to share it. I wanted to be able to live in this moment with my fans and my friends and speak from the heart.”
Inspired by a recent trip to his hometown of El Paso, TX, Khalid’s Suncity EP is equipped with seven songs — including “Better” — and a lone feature from Empress Of.
