After capturing the attention of many with an appearance on X-Factor at the age of 14 (sidebar: 2DBZ was on him well before—what up Sha!), Stro has steadily improved his craft and continues to impress with each and every release that’s followed.
Now, after inking a deal with Nas’ Mass Appeal Records earlier this month, the Brooklyn emcee is ready to kick off a new journey with the release of his debut project on the label, Nice 2 Meet You, Again.
“Every project I released up until this point was made from the perspective of a kid trying to be the best rapper,” Stro told Billboard. “N2MYA was made from the perspective of a young man trying to be the best example. As a product of the culture, I feel like its so much missing right now. Rather than making songs about what’s wrong with the culture, I focused on creating the vibes I want to see more in the culture.”
“N2MYA represents a new me and a new beginning,” he continued. “There was a lot of ups and downs creating this project, but through the grace of God I’m able to say I got it done. Through the grace of God, I’m also able to release this new music through one of the most authentic labels in music today, Mass Appeal Records. The whole building has been supporting what I do. NAS SUPPORTS WHAT I DO. That’s a blessing I’ll hold on to and keep in mind for the rest of my journey. That’s all I needed. This ones mainly for my loyal supporters who have stuck with me throughout the process of finding myself. This one for hip-hop.”
