Swizz Beatz Unloads ‘POISON’ Album

It might of taken longer than expected, but Swizz Beatz has finally released his Poison album to the masses.

First announced in 2017, the super producer (and overall renaissance man) went on to work with the likes of Nipsey Hussle, Meek Mill, Fabolous and Jadakiss, and held a beat battle with Timbaland at Hot 97’s SummerJam. But now, with at least three albums in the works (including one with Nas), Swizz takes it to the streets for his latest release.

Promising to deliver nothing but that “straight raw and uncut,” Swizz had the following to say, after revealing he cut tracks with Kanye, Bono (U2) and Bruno Mars…

“I took all the hits off my record, meaning anything that felt too big that the rest of the record wouldn’t live,” Swizz told Pitchfork in September. “It’s just not that record. It might be on my next record, but this particular record I wanted to occupy the ground floor, which I came from, polish that, and then let people come with me to the middle of the building or the penthouse or the roof, and then just start everything over again.”

Executive produced by Swizz and J. Cole, the album checks in at 10 tracks (made of of 9 songs and an intro) with features from Lil Wayne (“Pistol On My Side“), Kendrick Lamar, Nas, Pusha T, Jim Jones (“Preach“), Jadakiss, Styles P, Young Thug (“25 Soldiers“), 2 Chainz, Giggs (“Come Again“), French Montana, and Aine Zion.
