Standing as the fourth-released album of Kanye’s 2018 summer takeover, Nas‘ eleventh album, NASIR, was supposed to be one of the biggest highlights of the takeover. His lyrical ability over Kanye’s production was a mix many highly anticipated… until we got the product.
Despite whatever mixed feelings that are present, one of the album’s highlights was “Cops Shot the Kid.” The track featured phenomenal production, laced with a Slick Rick sample, from the MAGA hat-wearing dunce himself as Nas alludes to the police brutality that plagues much of African American community.
Almost seven months after the album’s release, Nas fires off the video for “Cops Shot the Kid.” While the MAGA hat-wearing dunce doesn’t make an appearance in the video, Nas does one better and invites Slick Rick himself for the video.
