After an impressive 2018, thanks to her debut album Lost & Found, Jorja Smith has solidified herself as the UK’s latest successful act. Continuing to share her talents with fellow UK artists, Jorja joins Maverick Sabre for a new track.
Serving as the second single off Maverick’s upcoming album, When I Wake Up, “Slow Down” stands as the duo’s second track together, following 2016’s “Carry Home.” Paired with a matching set of visuals, the two drive together around the streets of East London.
Speaking with Clash Music on the video, Maverick said, “The video inspired by the lyrics in the song represents two people, both in a similar experience expressing honestly, unfiltered, how they feel. The question we wanted to leave open was whether these 2 characters in the story are connected or not and if that even matters, what does is no matter what experience/situation you are in there is someone else who is feeling the exact same way.”
With When I Wake Up just a month away, releasing March 22nd, Maverick has also announced a UK and Ireland tour in support of the album. The tour will kick off March 29th and come to a close April 13th.
