Any time Exile links with an artist for a joint project, the results have been nothing but amazing (Below The Heavens, Boy Meets World, and countless others). In 2019, he aims to recreate that magic once again, with fellow West Coast musician Choosey.
Four years after his debut LP Left Field, Choosey will team with Exile for his re-up album Black Beans. The ambitious project will focus on both Choosey’s Afro-Latino heritage and his perspective on Black and Brown relations in Southern California. “My biggest influences have been people who spoke from the heart, and what’s most honest about me is my heritage,” he says. “There’s a stigma that Black and Mexican cultures don’t get along, but I wanted to show the beauty in being a product of both.”
Out March 29th, Choosey and Exile have shared the first single “Low Low” with Aloe Blacc. Check it out below.
