Papoose – “Fortune 500 (Freestyle)”

blame it on Wongo March 5, 2019

Twenty years after “Alphabetical Slaughter,” Papoose returned last month with “Numerical Slaughter” produced by DJ Premier. Speaking on the track, which appeared on his Underrated album, he revealed the motivation…

“I initially released ‘Alphabetical Slaughter’ over 20 years ago and to this day fans still mention that track. From comments on social media, to people just walking up to me on the street to tell me it’s their favorite hip-hop song,” Pap told Complex. “Every other month I see another artist creating their own version of the concept. I figured since fans love the song so much, I would give them something similar on my Underrated project; but this time, flip the numbers.”

With the reception of “Numerical Slaughter” being quite positive, Pap decided to return with a different kind of slaughter.

Skipping the alphabet and numerical system, Pap takes aim at Fortune 500 brands in a new freestyle. Paired with a matching video, we see him pointing to a list of the top US brands and using each brand in some fashion throughout the freestyle.

Produced by Edubb, the full freestyle can be heard below.
