Choosey & Exile Drop New Album, ‘Black Beans’

blame it on Meka April 1, 2019

Four years after his debut LP Left Field, West Coast spitter Choosey has once again teamed with producer Exile for his sophomore album Black Beans. The ambitious project will focus on both Choosey’s Afro-Latino heritage and his perspective on Black and Brown relations in Southern California. “My biggest influences have been people who spoke from the heart, and what’s most honest about me is my heritage,” he says. “There’s a stigma that Black and Mexican cultures don’t get along, but I wanted to show the beauty in being a product of both.”

Led by the single “Low Low,” the project features Aloe Blacc, Fashawn, Jimetta Rose, Blu and others. Stream it in its entirety, below.
