Like ScHoolboy Q, YG also pushed his project back due to the tragic passing of Nipsey Hussle.
Fo’ Hunnit was originally slated to surprise-release his album during the first weekend of CBoachella (April 12th), where he was slated to make his debut closing set, but held back out of respect for his fallen comrade. As he took the stage, he tributed Neighborhood Nip throughout his performance while treating the crowd to his expansive discography.
YG would then reveal that his fourth album — the follow-up to 2018’s Stay Dangerous — would arrive May 3rd, while performing presumably the first track from it: “Stop Snitching,” which is another not-so-subtle jab at the incarcerated 6ix9ine.
