Well, look who’s back around these parts.
DopeHouse veteran Spree Wilson returns with a new single, “No Escape.” A slow-burning, melodic groove, the track also features St. Beauty (of Janelle Monáe’s Wondaland imprint) and Big Rube (of the legendary Dungeon Family). “The song is about being in love so deeply that you don’t want to escape that feeling,” Spree says. “We wanted to capture that feeling with not only the lyrics but with the way the music felt, from the sultriness of the synth sounds to the funk blues of the guitar lines. All of it was designed with the intent to get inside of you and refuse to leave.”
