Guess who’s back?!
It’s been three long years since Danny Brown dropped an album (2016’s Atrocity Exhibition), but the Detroit rapper is officially back in action with a new album – U Know What I’m Sayin? – dropping in the near future.
After appearing alongside Open Mike Eagle on “Unfiltered” earlier this month, Brown linked up with High Snobiety for a detailed cover story about the album, his new show Danny’s House, breaking through writer’s block, getting heathy, and more.
Touching on the album, which is executive produced by Q-Tip (!!), Danny says there will be little to no drug talk, no crazy sex talk and no “weird” concepts – “just dope rhymes.”
“If I didn’t get help, with somebody to find a direction, I didn’t know what the fuck to do at that time,” Brown says of his bout with writer’s block. “I knew I couldn’t make an album like [Atrocity Exhibition] again. This is the easiest one because you got someone like [Q-Tip] you can put your trust into.”
Not much else about the music was revealed, but if El-P‘s word means anything, and it sure tf does, Brown has an “instant classic” on his hands.
