After a longer than expected wait, ScHoolboy Q delivered his 5th LP, CrasH Talk, a few weeks ago. The delay, however, was completely reasonable as Q was grieving with the death of close friend Mac Miller as well as handling his depression and anxiety.

Improving to a comfortable place, Q released the album and after sitting with it for a bit, it was definitely worth the wait. Adding onto the number of interviews he’s done this year, Q spent some time with Charlemagne Tha God for quite the honest conversation.

With the city’s nightlife serving as the backdrop to their conversation, Q opened up about Mac Miller’s death for the first time saying, “To this day, I just don’t understand how I can’t call my n**** no more. Losing a friend to gangbanging is way different to losing a friend that’s, like, an innocent little, like, little kid that’s super pure.”

In addition to Mac, Q also spoke on Nipsey Hussle’s death and the memories he has of him. “The first n**** when my first album dropped, the first n**** to tell me congratulations and he did it in person.”

With the interview lasting nearly forty minutes, Q also discussed fatherhood and welcoming daughter #2, reviews and disappointments with Blank Face sales, sobriety & more.
