Now that he’s “Got Muscle,” GoldLink is back in action with a new single off his forthcoming album—which, unlike his previous three releases (2014’s The God Complex, 2015’s And After That, We Didn’t Talk, and 2017’s At What Cost), was recorded outside of the DMV area.
“I wanted to figure out what was the pulse, why I love my city so much and I think the answer wasn’t directly in the city,” GoldLink explained to Zane Lowe. “I think it was more so directly somewhere else. I’ve never had as much fun making a record because I think that I went about it. Like, I never went to another place outside of D.C. to make a record.”
Joining forces with Maleek Berry (and Bibi Bourelly), GoldLink’s “Zulu Screams” (the first song recorded for the album) can be heard below.
UPDATE: Now with video.
