Russ – “Paranoid” (prod. Boi-1da)

The late great poet Christopher Wallace once proclaimed “Mo Money, Mo Problems” on a Hip-Hop classic that was released after his death in 1997. And now, 22 years later, the message is still ringing true–just ask Russ.

After years of releasing free music through SoundCloud, YouTube and other various platforms, the Jersey-bred artist’s career really started to take off in 2016 when a few singles started to chart. From there, his debut album, There’s Really a Wolf, was released (reaching platinum status less than a year later) and it’s been a rollercoaster of love/hate ever since.

Currently putting in work on his third album, a follow-up to last year’s Zoo, Russ recently found himself walking around his house, gun in hand, looking around for a possible intruder. Turns out, there wasn’t one, and he was just being paranoid. Which, in turn, led him to record a song about the feeling, using Boi-1da production as the canvas.

Debuted on Beats 1 with Ebro, “Paranoid” can be heard below.
