It’s been fifteen years since Murs and 9th Wonder first got together to release Murs 3:16: The 9th Edition to the world. Four more albums later, the emcee/producer duo are back at it with project number six–The Iliad Is Dead & The Odyssey is Over–dropping July 19th. And this time, they’ve invited The Soul Council (Khrysis, Eric G, AMP, Kash and E. Jones) to help provide the canvas.
“I didn’t take this lightly,” Murs told Billboard. “I sacrificed weeks away from my family, to write in seclusion and work with this team and hopefully make my best album to date. I am a true artist and my aim for the past two decades has been to master my craft. I am not an athlete. My age and longevity is not a limitation, it is a blessing. My focus isn’t what’s best for my brand — it’s what’s best for the music.”
Already two singles deep, Murs, 9th and The Soul Council are back with a video for the Kash-laced “Night Shift.” The clip also contains the graffiti-inspired promo video that was released in January with “Ga$ Station Gucci Belt” playing in the background.
