After a #BlackTwitter campaign, Missy Elliott was given the 2019 Video Vanguard Award (side note: Busta Rhymes gotta be next!). Prior to receiving the award, she gave another one of her trademark live performances.
After opening with her ICONOLOGY single “Throw It Back,” Missy would perform a medley that included “The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly),” “Get Ur Freak On,” “Work It,” “Pass That Dutch,” and “Lose Control.” Watch that, as well as her acceptance speech and a tribute package, below.
