Skyzoo & Pete Rock Team Up for ‘Retropolitan’ Album

In this new era (which, ironically enough, is a rehash of its predecessor) of collaborative albums, there has been some admittedly great stuff to come out over the years. And now, you can add Skyzoo and Pete Rock to the mix.

The New York giants have joined forces for their joint album, Retropolitan.

“The idea for Retropolitan came from a feeling of necessity. The album is both a love letter and a wakeup call to the city of New York,” Skyzoo says. “In an age where hype dominates reality, FOMO supersedes integrity and gentrification has supplanted tradition, this album is screaming for NYC to wake TF up–even as Pete and myself thank the city for all it’s done for us.”

Led by “It’s All Good” and the monster posse cut “Eastern Conference All-Stars” with eLZhi, Conway, Benny the Butcher and Westside Gunn, the LP arrives at 12 tracks with features from Styles P and Raheem DeVaughn.

Press play and be sure to add Retropolitan wherever you consume music.
