Back in July, Reach Records released their Summer Nineteen playlist that featured a collection of artists and producers who have either worked with or have signed to the label–including the 116 Clique, a collective from Texas that consists of members like Lecrae, Andy Mineo, and others.
Today, a video for 116 and Lecrae’s “California Dreamin” collaboration with DopeHouse favorite John Givez has been released to the masses.
Directed by The Ajayis, the video brings pages of Lecrae’s Unashamed book to life while highlighting memories from his time spent in California while spending summer nights in the 90’s living with his grandmother.
“Southeast San Diego was, for me, a place where two worlds collided,” says Lecrae of his Cali ties. “On one side was my grandmother, Big Momma, a devout Christian who was the first to introduce me to faith and religion. I respected her, but idolized the OGs who ran the streets.”
