I was having a conversation with friends earlier today, about revisiting albums.
There are roughly 40,000 songs uploaded to Spotify, alone, per day (in comparison, only a paltry 24,000 were uploaded to the platform per day in 2018). That’s a staggering amount of music for anybody to run through. So, it’s difficult to not only keep up with new music, it’s even difficult at times to revisit previously-released music.
I say that to say that, despite all of that, Anderson .Paak’s Ventura has been one of those few albums in 2019 that I frequently revisit. One of the reasons for that is his Smokey Robinson duet, “Make It Better.” The pair recently performed the track on Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show, and I’m totally here for that.
