Emotional Oranges Return with ‘The Juice Vol. 2’

blame it on Shake November 8, 2019

For the last year and change, Emotional Oranges have managed to capture the hearts and ears of many with their brand of nostalgic R&B. From loosies and vintage sample flips to The Juice, Vol. 1, the mysterious Los Angeles duo have carved their own lane in the game–and they’re just getting started.

Continuing to peel back the layers, E.O. – comprised of male singer/ engineer “A” and vocalist “V” (full names aren’t important), has returned with a second helping in the form of their latest project, The Juice, Vol. 2.

“This project is pretty risky as we’re drawing from multiple styles,” A told Billboard. “A lot of our references are more late ’80s/early ’90s: Sadé, Michael Jackson, Prince, Janet Jackson. But production-wise, I’ve been really inspired by the Timbaland and early Kanye West eras, so you have that melodic element to it. I’ve also been able to learn from one of my mentors, Dante Jones from THEY. His groove, drum patterns and the way he understands rhythm is something we strive to incorporate in our music.”

Equipped with eight tracks, including the previously-released “Sundays,” “Don’t Be Lazy,” “Your Best Friend Is A Hater,” and “Just Like You,” the project can be heard below. Press play and be sure to add Emotional Oranges’ The Juice, Vol. 2 on your preferred streaming platform.
